Communicable Disease Prevention Plan addressing Covid-19

October 2023 UPDATE: Please note that masks are now required at the Pender Islands Health Care Centre. Please bring your own mask and sanitize your hands when you arrive. Thank you for your efforts to keep our community healthy.

 

Please DO NOT come to your appointment if you have cold, flu or other communicable illness symptoms.

Please review our safety policies and procedures before your appointment, and contact me if you have any questions. 

 

To ensure everyone's safety, the following protocols are in place: 

​

- Patient illness: Do not come to your appointment if you are feeling unwell or experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms. Please contact me to let me as soon as possible. You can revisit my cancellation policy here. Please contact 8-1-1 for questions relating to covid symptoms.

 

- Practitioner illness: I will not come to work if I am feeling unwell. I will contact you as soon as possible if I need to reschedule our appointment.

- PPE: At this time, masks are required in common areas and in treatment rooms at the Pender Island Health Centre.

​

- Hand hygiene: Hand sanitizer will be available in the treatment room. Please sanitize or wash your hands upon arrival. I will wash my hands thoroughly before and after the treatment, and will use sanitizer as necessary. 

 

 

- Cleaning and sanitization: All surfaces, door handles, and the treatment table will be sanitized between patients. All laundry is single use and will be sanitized.

- The health centre is equipped with a filtration system to allow for good air circulation. 

​
